the Baikal-Amur railway. Route: Vladivostok - Komsomolsk-on-Amur - Tynda - Severobaikalsk - Irkutsk
The Baikal-Amur Railroad stretches more than 3500 kilometers from west to east along highlands. There are more than 3000 bridges, tunnel and others constructions. The road is surrounded with the severe climate and the wild nature.
You will begin the journey from Vladivostok city. Although Vladivostok is not stop of BAM, it is suitable to start the trip from here, because Vladivostok is the nearest Russian city on the Far East. Three are the regular flights from Japan (Niigata, Osaka, Toyama) Korea (Seoul, Busan), China (Harbin).

18:08 Arrive in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. The city is surrounded with taiga on the bank of Amur river. It is amazing city with very few narrow streets and a large number of huge avenue.

The train goes on the way through Siberia. Give your attention to the architecture of stations of BAM. The fact is, builders of stations were from different republic of the former Soviet Union and each team of builders wanted that their station was the best BAM station.

11:54 The station Alonka was built by the team of Moldavia.
14:17 The station Ulma. There is the new time zone. You must put the clock an hour back.
There is the bridge over the river Ulma right after the station. It is the highest bridge on BAM (49 meters).
17:16 The station Fefralsk (February). Stop 25 min.
21:50 The station Tyngala. The team of Novosibirsk built it.

01:35 The station Verhnezeisk. Stop 25 min.
At midnight the train crosses by the longest bridge on BAM - the bridge over Zeiskoe storage pond. It's length is 2 km
08:35 Arrive in the capital of BAM - the town Tynda. You will see the very original building of the station. The Moscow team built the town. The name of the main street is Krasnaya Presnya like the name of the Moscow street. The city center resembles the Moscow district. Tynda is the small Moscow in the middle of the taiga.

You see Siberia: its rivers, woods and mountains.

21:35 The station Hani. It is Yakutia. Stop 20 min.
12:00 (about) The station Novaya Chara. The team of Kazakhstan built it. Ii is the Chita region. The unusual building of the station is worth seeing. Stop 20 min.

The train drives into the territory of the Republic Buryatia early in the morning. The summer time of the region is identical with the Japanese time!

07:00 (about) The train goes through the Northern Muiski tunnel, the longest tunnel in Russia and the fifth longest tunnel in the world. Its length is about 16 km.

12:27 The station Nizhneangarsk. The train goes along the bank of Lake Baikal during half an hour.

Transfer to the hotel "Irkutsk". Leave your luggage in the hotel. Excursion around the city and visit the Museum of Decemrists.

The BAM tour ended. But your travel continues. You may take the train or plane to visit cities of Siberia or Moscow and St.-Petersburg or return to Vladivostok or Khabarovsk or make a journey along TransMongolia way
